This collection contains notes, papers, and teaching materials compiled by long-time Berklee faculty member Jeff Friedman. Materials include scores, articles, recordings, and other ephemera by or about Duke Ellington. It is believed these materials were primarily used to support his class on Duke Ellington, and it is likely that some of the items were passed down to him by his predecessor, Herb Pomeroy.
