Wayne Wadhams papers
Scope and Contents
This collection includes both teaching materials as well as records from Wadhams’ Boston Skyline label. Formats include paper files, floppy discs, compact discs, LPs, 45s, VHS tapes, Beta tapes, and Digital Audio Tapes. Departmental materials include a copy of the original 1983 department proposal for Music Production and Engineering and a 1997 award plaque from the college to Wadhams his contributions to the Music Technology Division.

Conditions Governing Access
Collection is open for research by appointment. Advance notice is required for access because materials are stored offsite.
Recordings have not been transferred. Patrons may view an item’s original container and/or carrier, but the materials themselves are not available for playback due to preservation concerns. Patrons may request access via listening appointments, however due to format obsolescence and condition, recordings many not be available for digitization. Contact Archives staff for further information.
Biographical Note
Wayne Wadhams (1946-2008) was a founding member of the Music Production & Engineering Department at Berklee College of Music, where he taught from 1982-2007. Wadhams was a founding member of the band The Fifth Estate, wrote jingles and TV music, co-founded the Orson Welles Film School (the largest independent college-accredited film school in the U.S.), and produced numerous musical recordings. Wadhams also authored the book Inside the Hits: the Seduction of a Rock and Roll Generation (2001).
