This collection primarily comprises performance recordings collected by longtime Berklee College of Music Woodwind department chair and faculty member Bill Pierce. The recordings span 1988 and 2006 and exist on audio and video cassette, compact disc, and audio reel.

Conditions Governing Access
Collection is open for research by appointment. Advance notice is required for access because materials are stored offsite.
Recordings have not been transferred. Patrons may view an item’s container and/or carrier, but the original recordings are not available for playback due to preservation concerns. Patrons may request viewing/listening appointments, however due to format obsolescence and condition, recordings many not be available for transfer. Contact Archives staff for further information.
Biographical note
Jazz saxophonist Bill Pierce (BCM '73) taught at Berklee College of Music from 1975 to 2017, serving as chair of the Woodwind department from 1997 until his retirement. Pierce performed and recorded with such artists as Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams and Wynton Marsalis, and toured with Stevie Wonder.
