This collection consists of 1 box of teaching materials created and compiled by former Berklee faculty member (and chair of the harmony department) Barrie Nettles. Materials include reels, tapes, papers, and textbook drafts. Teaching materials include workbooks and exams for Harmony 1, Harmony 2, Harmony 3, and Harmony 4, as well as exams for Arranging 1 and 2 and Ear Training placement exams.

Bill Pierce collection of Berklee College of Music woodwind department recordings, 1988-2006

This collection consists of performance recordings within the Berklee College of Music woodwind department collected by Bill Pierce during his tenure as an instructor at the College. The majority of items are audio cassettes (106 total), but other formats include 46 compact discs, 3 VHS tapes, and 14 quarter inch audio reels.

Collection of early rock and roll 78 RPM records, 1948-1953

The 78 RPM records in this collection are of unknown provenance and were selected for addition to the Archives for their rarity. They highlight early hits in rock and roll music, such as "Sixty Minute Man" and "Rocket 88," both of which are contenders for the first rock and roll record ever recorded. Each record has a four-digit number attached. These are catalog numbers, which were used both to track sales through distributors and for in-house accounting.

Ed and Ruth Williams collection on Boston jazz, 1984-2004

This collection is comprised of multi-track audio recordings (both masters and production copies) and the multi-track recorders modified by Ed Williams to produce them (required for playback). These recordings are complemented by copies of both of Ruth Williams’ books of photographs documenting decades of the New England jazz scene as well as bound indices for the recordings.
